GETTING ORGANIZED…
The tree is put away, the decorations are boxed up and stored, and the house seems fresh and minimalized again! I love this time of year!!
I’m getting organized and here’s where I started.
The storage closet. The reason is, I could smell something in there. Something bad. So I did a deep dive, pulling everything out. I was sure I would find a dead mouse or SOMETHING, but nope. Not one stinky thing. Unfortunately, it’s probably in the walls, yikes!
But anyway, I went to put everything back and decided I wanted to fold my sheets nicely. I wanted my hall closet to LOOK pretty.
So I found a darling lady who used to be in the Navy and learned from her! Who better than a military person to make things look neat and tidy?!! Now, the sets of sheets are complete with a pillowcase, or pillowcases to match. Folded precisely. And it looks FABULOUS, in my opinion!! Aren’t they pretty little sets??
HERE is the youtube video where I learned this. Do it, you guys!!!
Here are some other useful organizing tools:
Simply scroll the clickable photos below for images of each of the following.
1. Velvet hangers. Looks – YES! But the function is why I love these. You don’t get the crease in your shoulders because your clothes grip to the velvet so well. FYI- I recently learned that Costco has a box of 50 of these for $9.99!
2. These awesome under bed shoe organizers! Do you have enough room in your closet for your shoes? For your kids’ shoes? It’s the middle of winter right now and nobody around here is wearing sandals and flip flops. So why are they taking up valuable space in our closets when they could be stored neatly under the bed?? It’s nonsense. I’ll link two great options below, but I will be getting the most inexpensive one in white.
***PRO TIP: Leave out a pair of flip flops for wintertime pools/hot tubbing.
3. Storage bins for the pantry. I love these because they are clear, you can see what’s inside, and they come in different sizes to fit YOUR pantry. I also love that the container is lower in front so you don’t have to pull the whole thing off the shelf to get into it! These are a MUST for getting organized.
4. Lid organizer! Because what does your lid cupboard look like right now?? I’m digging this one!
5. Okay, who doesn’t need a good hook? I just bought THESE HOOKS to hang my hair cutting cape nicely inside my hall closet door. Why do I feel so GREAT about that??? Because it’s neat and tidy, that’s why.
