Mmm…What Smells So Good?

Don’t you love to hear that?  The very minute that the weather turns colder and we close our windows here at home, is when I want to dive into all the Fall scents! I’ve gathered a few of my favorite things to share how to make your home smell like Fall.

How To Make Your Home Smell Like Fall

1.  MAKE A SIMMER POT

Find a favorite recipe or just throw some things together like in THIS post.  You know how a good smell can permeate the whole house when something is cooking on the stove!

2.  BURN A CANDLE

I haven’t been burning candles for years because of the soot problem they left on my walls.  However, just recently I learned that soy candles burn much cleaner.  And burning a candle, in my opinion, smells sooo much better than melting wax!  I was turned on to THIS company whose candles are soy based and I have tried the Fall sampler trio and LOVE each scent! Highly recommend!

3.  USE A ROOM OR LINEN SPRAY

This is one of my newest favorite things!  I’ve always loved buying great smelling room fresheners.  However, only recently have I learned that you can MAKE your own!  Benefits?  Less harsh chemicals!  Read THIS post to learn how to make gift size bottles to share.  I actually quadrupled the amounts and made it in larger spray bottles for my own use.  I use it as a linen spray on my sheets and LOVE falling asleep to the gentle smell.  Plus, you can feel good knowing that you’re not breathing in harsh chemicals as you drift off.  Huge win!

4.  SPRAY YOUR COUNTERTOPS

Nothing makes your kitchen smell more fresh than with some holiday Mrs. Meyers!  I absolutely love the scents but Orange Clove and Peppermint are definitely my favorites.

5.  MAKE OATMEAL BUTTERSCOTCH COOKIES

Another idea for how to make your home smell like Fall is to bake!  Nothing smells better than to walk in the house and smell something baking.  Oh boy, these cookies are a family favorite!  And every time I take them to someone, I get asked to share THIS recipe.  Plus, there is cinnamon in them so your home smells FANTASTIC while they are baking!

6.  SPRINKLE CARPETS WITH A SCENTED DEODORIZER

Again, I use to sprinkle my carpets with a deodorizer from the store until I found out that you can MAKE your own!  Just sprinkle on carpets, let sit for a few minutes, and vacuum it up! Click HERE for the recipe.
