THOUGHTS ON GENERAL CONFERENCE

IMG_2321

Well Spring Break just finished over here, followed by a wonderful weekend of General Conference, where we get to hear from the leaders of the Church, and especially our living prophet. I have to say, I feel at peace. Before conference, boy, I had some serious fears about this world we live in. I approached conference with a prayer in my heart that I would have my questions answered that have been plaguing my mind and soul. Sure enough, God answered my prayers.

There really is not much difference between the world these days and the world in biblical times. The battle between good and evil is happening every day all around us, whether or not we witness it with our own eyes.

Just as in the days of old, the Lord will protect and sustain his covenant people. As long as we remember Him and live so that we can be worthy of His Spirit, we don’t need to fear but we can be alive with hope and even peace, knowing that all things will work together for our good.

We need to spread the word to others who feel fear and uncertainty about the future. Satan is raging in the hearts of men. God is aware of us and stands ready to lighten our load.  Are we drawing closer to him or away from him?

Sometimes difficult things will happen in our lives, that’s part of our earthly test. I know I’m not going to skip through life without any trials, nobody will.  But when these times come, instead of looking to the internet or other people for answers, our first response should be to look to our living God, and trust that there is a reason for it.

I loved this quote from General Conference, “You can have what you want, or you can have something better.”

Anyway, there’s where my thoughts are today. I am uplifted. I am ready to fight the good fight. Here’s to a great week my friends!

Make it a happy one!
