WHO’S YOUR ONE? I HAVE TWO…

Who's your one?

Who’s your one? I have two daughters who I would do anything to protect.

All of my young adult life I thought about and prepared for having a family. When I had my first daughter, my heart doubled in size! Then with the arrival of each of our other children, I grew such a fierce love for each of them individually!  But speaking of my daughters…

Who's your one?

I remember one night in particular. I was awake nursing my 2nd baby girl. My home was still and quiet, everyone else sleeping soundly. As I looked into the face of my little sweetheart, I thought about the future. I thought about what she would be like when she grew up.  I thought about our other children.  Our oldest daughter was only 11 years old.  I felt all the feels of a protective mama bear everyday of their little lives!

Who's your one?

A mama’s love.

I was willing to do whatever I could do to protect them from harm, illness, heart break, or even hurt feelings.

They deserve to live a full and happy life!

who's your one?

I also knew that there was only so much that I could do to protect them.  The nature of life is that we have no guarantees.

Things will happen.

They will get hurt.

I specifically remember a thought that popped into my head.  “If, by some unthinkable circumstance, something were to happen to one of my children that might threaten or take their life, how would I survive that?”

I think my heart would LITERALLY break!

It SCARES me, how much I love them!

As I got thinking about breast cancer last month (click HERE to read my story) the statistics kind of scared me. And not just for myself, but for my daughters!

“1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.”  Wow!

Chances are, you already know someone who has been affected by the deadly disease?  So I ask you…

Who’s your one?

Who do you want to protect from breast cancer?  I have TWO!  I would invite you to visit THIS PAGE and share your story.   Also, click HERE to learn about how Susan G Komen is on the frontlines of the fight.

Here are some of the ways in which Susan G. Komen is fighting breast cancer:

  1. Advocacy: The organization shares the voice of those who have been touched by breast cancer to policy makers in an effort to fund lifesaving research and provide critical patient support.
  2. Research: They work to understand, prevent and treat particularly the most aggressive and deadly breast cancers, so that patients can live better lives, longer.
  3. Education: The organization provides fact-based information so we can make informed decisions about our breast health.

We can’t protect our loved ones from everything, but we can do much to educate ourselves and get involved in the fight against breast cancer.

Thank you to Susan G. Komen for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.
