HOW TO TRANSITION INTO SPRING | A LINK UP…
Bring on the sunshine!
Today, I’m going to throw out some ideas for how to shift your wardrobe to transition into Spring, and doesn’t that just make you happy??
Just THINKING about warmer days makes me smile!!
The outer layer is still a must, but ditch the coat!
Here in Northern Utah, we still are having some downright CHILLY days!
We are definitely keeping the “third layer” handy but trying for something lighter and not so chunky.
For example, ANYTHING but the winter coat, if we can get away with it!!!
Trenchcoats
A trenchcoat is a good piece to help you transition into Spring because it gives you coverage but without the heavy bulk.
It’s also super stylish!
If your trench isn’t white or happens to be a darker color, be sure to incorporate some florals or soft, bright colors into the outfit.
This look first appeared in my Spring beauty post here.
Blazers
A blazer is ALWAYS a classic option as well!
These days you can pair ANYTHING with a good blazer… dresses, jeans, t-shirts, or jumpsuits!
They are not just for business anymore and look GREAT in a casual ensemble.
Faux Leather Jackets
Turn in your winter coat for a stylish and comfortable faux leather jacket!
These are a great alternative to genuine leather and a much better price point!
And yet it leaves you with allll the style.
Denim Jackets
Of course, we can’t forget the ever popular DENIM JACKET when it comes to transitioning to Spring!
This might be my “go-to” jacket of all time.
You just can’t beat it’s comfort and versatility!
I actually cut the bottom hem off of this one to make it more cropped.
I LOVE the shorter length with dresses and longer tunics.
Pull out those sneakers too, if you haven’t in a while!
Here’s a similar denim jacket over a sweatshirt dress.
Another tip to transition to Spring?
Layer leggings under your dresses for warmth!
These faux leather leggings are my all-time favorite!
In similar fashion, you could layer with tights as well.
The sweatshirt dress can be found HERE.
Booties
Lastly, opt for booties instead of long boots.
Throw on a cardigan for warmth and you can always remove it if you get too warm.
I am wearing a sleeveless cardigan (below) which is perfect for warm Spring days!
Another great tip to transition into Spring is to go with a monochrome outfit in lighter hues.
Everything in this photo is old except for my purse.

I hope this was helpful!

Oh I love it too Jodie! It feels so good to walk outside and not grit my teeth from the cold!! Sometimes that refreshing, but I’ve had enough haha!
Love ya!
Denim jackets and color are my two favorite ways to bring in spring. Love that red outfit! We have a short window here for layers before it gets hot!

Thanks Mireille! I am so ready for color like you, after a long winter! We still have a few months before it gets really hot here!
Cammi, you have the best style and are completely gorgeous! I love all your looks for layering.
You are just the SWEETEST Carrie! Thanks for making me feel great! And thanks for the fun link up!!
Great ideas for looking Spring-like even if the temperatures are still a bit cool.

Hey, thanks Rena! We probably won’t be in summer shorts until the end of June!!! I appreciate your comment, thanks so much!
Cammi 😉
So many great ideas, I love them all! And I’m envious you live in Utah. It’s one of my favorite states for beauty.
Thank you so much Amy!! I truly feel so blessed to live where we do and try not to ever take it for granted!!
Love the tips, especially the one about faux leather jackets. I own several and never wear them but I think I’m gonna break them out this Spring.
Thank you Daenel! I find that the leather jackets give me just enough warmth on chilly spring days! Have a great day and thank you for the comment!!
Girl, you are a real doll. I am so glad to meet you and to be on this ageless style journey with you. Love everything you shared. I am trying to justify buying a trench coat because I think they are so sexy and chic!! But I would only have about 2 days a year that I could wear it down here in El Paso!! I am really loving your red baseball jersey-looking top with the light wash denim jacket. My Prince C. would eat that up. We are big baseball folks over here. I tried on his catcher’s gear… Read more »
Oh how funny, you are the cutest Leslie!! If I were you, I wouldn’t spend a lot on a trench coat down there in El Paso… maybe find a good one thrifted or on Poshmark! Thanks for your sweet comment!
So many cute looks!! I absolutely love that shot of you in the red outfit in the road with the mountains behind you. Beautiful!
Miles of smiles,

Hey Grace, thank you so much!! Aren’t those mountains beautiful? I feel like I could be wearing a gunny sack and look great in front of them!!
Have a great day!
