One Of My All Time Favorite Treasures!
My Book Of Thoughts
Years ago, my parents gave me and my brothers and sisters a little black and white book with our name on it, called
My Book of Thoughts.
My Book of Thoughts.
I can’t thank them enough!
In it, we were to write down any thoughts or experiences that we had, spiritual or otherwise, that prompted us to make an improvement in our lives. We were to write the experience, followed by “Today I will….” and then tell how we were going to implement this new idea in our day.
I took this seriously, made many entries in my book, and it has become a priceless treasure to me! I feel like it has inspired a lifelong habit and a LOVE for everyday self improvement. I love that I have recorded these things, because I’m POSITIVE I would have forgotten them by now!!
(age……you know)
It is hard to mold ourselves into the person that we want to become if we are not making statements, or goals, in the direction that we want to go.
- Got a dream?
- Have the desire?
- Want to change something about yourself?
Make yourself a Book of Thoughts! Write in it, and reread it often. Anytime you learn something and think “I should do that”, or “I need to remember that”,
WRITE IT DOWN.
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
Here is an example of one that I wrote many years ago when my son (now 8 years old) was just a baby:
That’s just an idea. You can write about anything at all that inspires you.
To quote Ernest Hemingway:
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
Or… how about the ever eloquent philosopher
Madonna:
“No matter who you are, no matter what you did, no matter where you’ve come from, you can always change, become a better version of yourself.”
Want to make a change? Here’s a great place to start!
(You can thank my Mom and Dad!!!)
Let me know if you do it, I’d love to hear from you!
Have a great day!!
