WINTER PORCH POT
PRETTY UP YOUR PORCH
I love having beautiful pots full of colorful blooms in the summertime, but I have never done it’s equivalent during the winter months.
And why not? I don’t know!! I’ve seen so many pots all over Pinterest but this is the first time I’ve ever had a winter porch pot of my own and I LOVE IT!
First, it’s always nice to have a beautiful pot to greet your guests when they come to your door. Don’t you agree? Most likely there is evergreen goodness all around you that you can incorporate into your winter porch pot. All you have to do is look around! Don’t have an evergreen forest near you?
No worries.
Simply do what I did and stop by the local nursery and buy their clippings at a low price.
I do have a couple of blue spruce trees in my yard that I clipped a few branches from. Also, I cut some twigs from the base of a volunteer aspen tree in my yard. I like the blue color from my blue spruce peeking out. Isn’t that pretty?
The rest I picked up at a local nursery for not too much money at all. However, I have also heard that Lowe’s and Home Depot will give you clippings if you just ask. So there’s that.
Can we just appreciate this face for a minute?
I don’t know the names of these clippings that I used, I don’t really care. 🙂 I just picked stems with pretty texture that I thought would look good together in my winter porch pot.
SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS
Here’s your quick tutorial. Are you ready? Larger items in back or in the center. Smaller or cascading stems in front or around the edges to hang over the pot. Add an ornament, ribbon, pine cone, or whatever you have! Done! Easy, right?
I initially wanted to have all greenery coupled with some Christmas ornaments. However, as I was putting it all together I remembered this pretty white lantern sitting in storage that would give it some visual interest. And I love the result!
Now my front door wreath won’t be the only thing showing holiday character this year!!!
It was super simple and won’t take a lot if time. If you feel like you have no time at all this holiday season, you might like THIS post.
