Happy Valentines Day!

 

Today I’m rounding up some of the ways we are getting ready for Valentine’s Day, and I’m doing it with some friends!

I’m really feeling ready to party this month, more than in previous years.

I think we have 2020 to thank for that.

We all need some joy and some social interaction, in my opinion.

Our MENTAL HEALTH depends on it!!

Here are a few things that I’m super excited about this year.

But I also plan on making Valentine’s Day sugar cookies before the big day and saw the CUTEST cookie inspiration on Pinterest!

I wonder if I can pull off cute handwriting like that?? 😉

They used these fun little Wilton Food Writer edible color markers and I had to jump on and grab me some!

I can’t wait to try them out and I’ll be sure to share when I do!

 

While you’re getting ready for Valentine’s Day, you might as well sport the season in Valentine’s style!

 

There are so many darling heart prints, pink colors, red colors, and kissy lip prints out right now.

It’s a fresh alternative to the darker tones of fall and winter and gives us a little nod toward Spring!

But I don’t like to go TOO over the top… I don’t like my clothing to scream VALENTINE’S DAY!!!

Why?

Because I want to get more wear out it other than just during the month of love.

 

I picked up this cute sweatshirt and joggers set from Target and I feel like it’s a subtle enough Valentine look that I could wear it for V-Day and throughout the year.

And that’s what I like to look for in clothing.

Plus, I can wear it as separates!

Big red sweaters with huge hearts on it???

Not wearing it except in February.

Big pink tops with kissy lips all over it???

Fun for Valentine’s Day but then I’m probably donating it.

Why spend money on that?

 

One thing I WOULD wear is bold RED!

Now that is something that is appropriate ANY time of year!

This is one of my FAVORITE DRESSES!

I have it in burgundy and navy, but how pretty is it in red??

The Swing Dress is a classic and popular favorite and comes in lots of colors.

If you are one who can wear a gorgeous feuschia, how about THIS DRESS!!!!!

I have it in the coral color and absolutely LOVE the cut of this dress, it’s so flattering!

I found this cute little t-shirt that is SUPER appropriate with a subtle nod towards Valentine’s day…

The only thing is it’s a little see-through… so if that’s an issue for you, I might not recommend it unless you wear it under a jacket or cardigan like I have here.

I share about these darling pixie pants all the time!

I have them in navy but bought them in red, burgundy, and the light plaid just this winter.

While you’re getting ready for Valentine’s Day, don’t forget the accessories!

The one thing I DO is we have a very fancy Valentine’s Day breakfast where I like to decorate the kitchen table.

HERE is the post all about that.

Years ago, we had a hand-drawn sign by my oldest when she was younger that would hang over the table, welcoming everyone to our Valentine’s Day breakfast.

Sadly, I think it got tossed!!!!

So this year I was browsing and found THESE CUTE PUFFY PAPER BALLS that will look ADORABLE hung over our Valentine’s day table!
