Homemade Lollipops

These are one of our family’s favorite traditions at Christmas time!  The kids love to make them and pass them out to their friends.  We have tried so many flavors, but the one that seems to be the outstanding favorite is the root beer.  We also like bubble gum, watermelon, and wild cherry.

Homemade Lollipops

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup white corn syrup
1 tsp. flavoring
food coloring (paste)

Combine sugar, water, and corn syrup in a small saucepan.  Cook on medium-high heat until mixture reaches 300 degrees.  Remove and let cool to 275 degrees.  Add flavoring and food coloring.  Stir until blended.  Pour into greased molds.  Allow to cool until candy is set.

You can find lollipop molds and flavorings at any local craft or kitchen store.  You can buy small plastic bags especially made for lollipops, and secure them with ribbon or tape.  This recipe makes about 20 lollipops.  You’ll love how these turn out, they set up quick and look so yummy!

Enjoy!
